WPA-Recognised Clinical Psychologist
Psychological therapy covered by WPA health insurance
with Dr Georgina Dobson | HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist
Looking for a Clinical Psychologist who accepts WPA health insurance?
I'm Dr Georgina Dobson, an HCPC-registered and WPA-recognised Clinical Psychologist offering online psychological therapy for children, young people and adults across the UK.
If you have private health insurance with WPA, you may be able to access psychological therapy with me through your existing policy.
I understand that finding the right psychologist can feel daunting, particularly when you're already going through a difficult time. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, low mood, relationships, past experiences or patterns you don't quite understand, I offer a warm, compassionate and collaborative approach to helping you make sense of your difficulties and move towards meaningful change.
Using Your WPA Health Insurance for Therapy
As a WPA-recognised Clinical Psychologist, I'm able to provide psychological therapy to clients whose WPA policies cover treatment with me.
WPA offers mental health benefits under eligible policies, which may include psychological assessment and therapy. The level of cover available will depend on your individual policy and the treatment authorised by WPA.
If you're unsure whether your policy covers psychological therapy, you can contact WPA directly to check your benefits.
How to Arrange WPA-Funded Therapy
1. Get in touch
You're welcome to contact me to discuss what you're looking for, ask any questions and explore whether working together might be a good fit.
2. Contact WPA
Let WPA know that you'd like to access psychological therapy with Dr Georgina Dobson, a WPA-recognised Clinical Psychologist. They can confirm your eligibility, whether a referral is required and what your policy covers.
3. Obtain authorisation
Before beginning therapy, you'll need to obtain the appropriate treatment authorisation from WPA. They will advise you of any limits or contributions that apply.
4. Arrange your first appointment
Once authorisation is in place, we can arrange your initial appointment. This is an opportunity for us to explore your experiences, understand what has brought you to therapy and think together about what might be helpful.
What Can I Help With?
People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons. Sometimes there's a particular difficulty you want help with. Other times, you might feel overwhelmed, disconnected or stuck without fully understanding why. You can read more about how therapy can help, and the different therapeutic approaches I use here.
I work with a wide range of psychological and emotional difficulties, including:
Anxiety, excessive worry and panic
Eating difficulties (including restrictive eating, binge-eating, bulimia nervosa and ARFID)
Depression and low mood
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
Trauma and difficult life experiences
Relationship and attachment difficulties
Low self-esteem and self-criticism
Stress, burnout and perfectionism
Grief, loss and significant life changes
Emotional regulation difficulties
Difficulties associated with neurodivergence
You don't need to have a diagnosis or know exactly what you want to work on before reaching out.
My approach is integrative and evidence-based, drawing on different psychological models to understand your experiences and tailor therapy to your individual needs.

Online WPA Therapy Across the UK
I offer psychological therapy online, allowing you to access support wherever you are in the UK.
Online therapy offers the flexibility to attend appointments from a private space where you feel comfortable, without the need to travel or fit journeys around work, family or other commitments.
Although we meet remotely, the therapeutic relationship remains central to my work. My aim is to create a space where you feel genuinely heard, understood and accepted, while also supporting you to make meaningful changes in your life.
If you're planning to use WPA health insurance, please confirm that your policy covers online appointments with me.
Why Choose to Work With a Clinical Psychologist?
Clinical Psychologists are trained to understand psychological difficulties in the wider context of a person's life, including their relationships, experiences, environment and the ways they've learned to cope.
With over five years of NHS experience, I bring a broad understanding of mental health and psychological difficulties to my private practice.
I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. My work is trauma-informed, neuroaffirming and sensitive to your individual identity, culture, relationships and experiences.
Rather than focusing only on reducing symptoms, I'm interested in helping you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, recognise patterns that may no longer be serving you and find ways forward that feel right for you.
